Geomembrane

Brief introduction of construction method of waterproof geotextile

2020-11-09
Waterproof geotextile is actually a composite geomembrane, but two names for a product. Waterproof geotextiles are divided into one fabric and one membrane, two fabrics and one membrane, and multiple fabrics and multiple membranes.

1. The storage and transportation of waterproof geotextile must avoid damage before construction. The waterproof geotextile must be covered with an opaque material to prevent UV aging. During transportation (including the transportation from the site where materials are stored to the work site), damage to the waterproof geotextile must be avoided. Physically damaged waterproof geotextile must be repaired. Severely worn waterproof geotextile cannot be used. Waterproof geotextiles that come into contact with leaked chemical agents cannot be used either.

2. The laying of waterproof geotextile, the waterproof geotextile adopts manual roll laying method. The cloth surface is required to be flat, and the deformation allowance is appropriately retained.

3. Precautions for waterproof geotextile construction:

1. Use the landfill type, the upper layer covers about 30cm.

2. The soil must be firm, remove the turf roots within the range of uneven sinking prevention, and pave sand or clay with a small particle size as a protective layer on the contact area with the membrane.

3. When laying, do not stretch the waterproof geotextile too tightly. The part embedded in the soil at both ends is preferably made into a wave shape. Especially when fixing with rigid anchors, please leave a certain amount of expansion and contraction.

4. During construction, it is necessary to avoid heavy stone objects hitting the waterproof geotextile directly. It is best to lay waterproof geotextile while constructing, covering the protective layer.

4. Self-inspection and repair of waterproof geotextile

1. At the suture joint, perform re-suturing repair to confirm that the end of the flying needle part is re-sutured.

2. In all areas, except for the rocky slope area, the holes or cracks must be repaired and stitched with waterproof geotextile patches of the same material.

3. When the length of the crack exceeds 10% of the coil width, the damaged part must be cut off to connect the two geotextiles.

Waterproof geotextile is a geotextile impermeable material composited with a plastic film as an impermeable base material and a non-woven fabric. Its impermeability mainly depends on the impermeability of the plastic film. Plastic films used in anti-seepage at home and abroad mainly include polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyethylene (PE). They are polymer chemically flexible materials with small specific gravity, strong stretchability, high adaptability to deformation, corrosion resistance, and Low temperature and good frost resistance. The main mechanism is the impermeability of the plastic film to block the leakage channel of the earth dam, and with its large tensile strength and elongation, it can withstand the water pressure and adapt to the deformation of the dam body. Non-woven fabric is also a polymer short fiber chemical material. It has high tensile strength and stretchability through needle punching and thermal bonding. When combined with plastic film, it not only increases the tensile strength and puncture resistance of the plastic film Moreover, the surface of the non-woven fabric is rough, which increases the friction coefficient of the contact surface. At the same time, it has excellent corrosion resistance to bacteria and chemical effects, and is not afraid of acid, alkali, and salt corrosion.

Waterproof geotextile function: Waterproof geotextile has good water conductivity, and forms a drainage path inside the soil, which can discharge the excess liquid and gas in the soil structure. Effectively diffuse concentrated stress, transfer or decompose, and prevent soil from being damaged by external forces. Prevent the mixing of sand, soil and concrete in the upper and lower layers. High water permeability-it can maintain good water permeability even under the pressure of soil and water. Simple construction-light weight, easy to use, simple construction, waterproof geotextile, many people use it. In fact, a more suitable classification of anti-seepage materials should be composite geomembrane. So there is this name. This is the reason of history. Waterproof geotextiles are used in geotechnical engineering, which solves many problems that cannot be solved by engineering, and brings simple new methods to many problems. After the geotextile is compounded with an anti-seepage plastic film, it is called a waterproof geotextile because of its anti-seepage effect.

Features of waterproof geotextile:

High puncture resistance and high friction coefficient

Good aging resistance, adapt to a wide range of ambient temperature

Excellent drainage resistance

It is suitable for water conservancy, chemical industry, construction, transportation, subway, tunnel, garbage treatment plant and other projects.
