The joints of geomembrane fabrics are inevitable during the construction process. The joints are often the weak points of the entire structure. Joint treatment is a key process in the construction of geomembrane or fabrics, which directly affects the execution time of the project. Geomembrane or fabric splicing on site In order to facilitate construction and ensure splicing quality, the membrane or fabric should be as wide as possible to reduce the number of splicing on the dam slope. Before construction, according to the width of the film or fabric, the length of the site should be cut on the dedicated site of the warehouse, spliced into blocks of the required size, rolled into steel pipes, and transported to the site manually. According to the quality inspection and related data, the thermal welding method can obtain the desired effect. The thermal welding method first melts the surface of the geomembrane, and then fuse it into a whole by applying a certain pressure.






Adjust the overlap width of the weld before welding, and it should be smooth and free of wrinkles. Welding should be done by experienced professional and technical personnel, and the temperature and speed should be adjusted. The welds obtained by this welding method are double straight seams, each with a width of 1 cm and an interval of 1 cm. The lap width of the geomembrane in the weld is 10 cm. After the film is attached, perform an appearance inspection to see if the surface is defective. If the welding is transparent, uniform, no wrinkles, no voids, no bubbles, strong peeling, etc., it is deemed qualified. After the appearance inspection is scored, random inspections can be carried out. According to the requirements of the specification, samples are randomly selected for joint tensile strength test. The joint strength must be greater than or equal to 80% of the base. The fabric within the overlapped width of the seam should be sewn to protect the seam and the film. If the seam welding is unqualified, it can be repaired again. The size of the repaired weld should be greater than 10cm around the hole.

Before laying the geomembrane fabric, the site must be leveled according to the design requirements, and impurities such as sharp rocks and tree roots must be removed. The surface of the base must be flat without unevenness. The clean base surface should be firmly tamped to make the film or cloth adhere firmly after laying the base surface. But the film layer should not be too tight or wrinkled, the splicing should be firm, and the construction should be strictly in accordance with the technical specifications. During the laying process, there should not be many bubbles under the membrane, so the area of the primary membrane should not be too large, and the protective layer should be covered during laying. On-site staff should wear flat shoes before going to bed.
